“I am super excited to join the Silverbacks organization, I have heard many good things about the community and fan base,” said Wellenreiter. “I think it will be a challenge to make the jump to junior, but I’m ready to do that and looking forward to it. I can’t wait to get up to Salmon Arm and get started.”

Souligny, 17, comes to the Silverbacks from the New Jersey Rockets in the 16U AAA league after starting his season with the Navan Grads in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL). The 6’3 defenceman had a total of 15 points, 4 goals, and 11 assists in 27 games with the New Jersey Rockets. GM Brooks Christensen said, “We believe with Aidan’s size and speed he will bring another element to our backend to help form the defensive core we envision. He’s a high-character kid and excited to see him develop working with our coaching staff.”

The Navan, Ontario-born player is committed to Boston University and is thrilled to be joining the Silverbacks organization.

“I’m honoured and excited to be joining the Silverbacks family this upcoming season,” said Souligny. “I’ve heard nothing but positive things about this organization, the community, and the people of Salmon Arm.
