The Salmon Arm SilverBacks are very proud to announce that 2nd year 'Backs Defenceman Brett Fagerheim has committed to play for the ACHA's University of Arizona Wildcats, for 2014-2015 season.
Fagerheim joined the SilverBacks last season, after stints with the AJHL's St.Albert Steel and Calgary Canucks, helping solidify the 'Backs blue-line during the 12-13 run to the Playoffs, where he contributed 7 points in 28 games. Brett has skated in 32 games for the 'Backs, this season, providing 1 goal and 5 assists.
SilverBacks General Manager, and Head Coach Troy Mick says Fagerheim will be well equipped for his transition to a new organization “Brett has been a steady influence for us on the back end; and has over 140 games of Junior 'A' experience that are sure to benefit his move to the Wildcats."
Brett's Brother Brandon currently plays for American International College of the NCAA; Coach Troy Mick says the Fagerheim hockey blood-line helped make Brett an important part of the 'Backs organization "He's always shown himself as a team-first player with the ability to adapt and learn with his team-mates, we're very excited for him regarding this news today."
The SilverBacks would like to congratulate Brett, and his family on this announcement, while wishing him the best of luck in his transition to the Wildcats family, next year.
