Thank you Maddux Martin!

Salmon Arm, B.C. — The Salmon Arm Silverbacks have announced that forward Maddux Martin has been traded at his request as he prepares to embrace a new chapter in his junior hockey career.

“Salmon Arm will always be home for me. I have nothing but love for this city and the Silverbacks organization,” said Maddux Martin. “They gave me the opportunity to play four incredible seasons in front of my family, friends, and the community that raised me. This move is simply about embracing a new experience and a fresh challenge in my final year of junior hockey. I’ll always be proud to have worn a Silverbacks jersey and am incredibly thankful for the support of this community. I also want to thank Tyler Shattock for believing in me from the very beginning — he is a big reason I’ve been able to get to where I am today, and I’ll always be grateful to him and the entire coaching staff in Salmon Arm. I take tremendous pride in this community and in what we’ve built together over the past four years. That’s something I’ll always look back on with pride. Truly the best fans in the BCHL.”

Martin wraps up an impactful four-season tenure with his hometown club, skating in 179 regular-season games while recording 41 goals and 58 assists for 99 points. A key contributor throughout his junior career, Martin helped the Silverbacks reach back-to-back conference final appearances and proudly served as team captain for one season, earning the respect of teammates, coaches, and fans alike.

“This decision, from both a personal and organizational standpoint, is something we didn’t want or expect to make,” said Head Coach and General Manager Tyler Shattock. “Maddux has been an integral part of this organization, serving as captain and being part of two conference final teams. Although this is a tough decision, we respect Maddux’s choice to experience something different for the remainder of the season. Playing for your hometown comes with a lot of pressure and expectations, and we’re proud of the job Maddux did handling those. Maddux will always be a Silverback in our eyes and will always be welcome back to this organization in any capacity. We wish Maddux nothing but the best for the remainder of the season and in his future. Good luck, ‘Maddog.’”

The Salmon Arm Silverbacks would like to thank Maddux for his dedication, leadership, and contributions to the franchise and wish him continued success in the final chapter of his junior hockey career.

In return, the Silverbacks are excited to welcome Landon Mackie, a player of high caliber who adds skill, competitiveness, and experience to the lineup. More details to come soon.
