Salmon Arm, BC: The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are happy to announce right winger Zack Smith will be suiting up for the University of Toronto Varsity Blues for next season.
“We are very happy for Zack to be continuing on his playing career while getting an education," said Silverbacks GM Brooks Christensen. "University of Toronto is getting an outstanding individual who should be able to step into their line up and contribute immediately. We’d like to thank Zack for his time and dedication to our program."
The Silverbacks acquired Smith midway from the Melfort Mustangs, midway thru last season. Smith made an early impact, recording 10-goals and 7-assists for 17-points in 19-games.
The Saskatoon native says he's looking forward to joining the cougars:
