Salmon Arm, BC – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks have announced the signing of F Ben Buckley (05′) for the 2023/24 season.
Buckley also recently committed to Dartmouth College to play NCAA Division I Hockey for the 2024/25 season.
Silverbacks General Manager, Brooks Christensen said the team is thrilled to add Buckley to the roster.
“Ben is a great addition to our line up for next season. He got to experience Salmon Arm visiting & watching his brother. We believe he’s going to add to the culture of our organization as a player that comes to the rink ready to compete.
The Warwick, RI native is currently splitting his time with the U18 AAA Cape Cod Whalers, and St.George’s Prep School. In 27 games with the Whalers, he has recorded seven goals, and added 10 assists for 17 points. While he has added four goals, and six assists for 10 points in just eight games played for St.George’s this season.
Buckley said the influence of his brother, Ryan played a big role in his decision to join the Silverbacks.
“My brother has nothing but great things to say about the city of Salmon Arm, the Silverbacks Organization, and the Silverbacks fanbase. After visiting Salmon Arm, meeting with the staff, and watching a game at the Shaw Centre – I am thrilled to be a Silverback!”
