Silverbacks engage Franco Canadian Goalie School as goaltending consultants

SALMON ARM, BC — The Salmon Arm Silverbacks have engaged Franco Canadian Goalie School (FCGS) as goaltending consultants to support and enhance both current and future goaltending development within the organization, working closely alongside the club’s existing goaltending and hockey coaches.

With more than 20 years of experience, FCGS is widely regarded as one of the premier goalie development programs in the game, having worked with elite talent across the NHL, CHL, NCAA, and European professional leagues. The program, led by Dave and Marco Franco, has helped develop goaltenders at every level, including NHL standouts such as Jordan Binnington, Curtis Joseph, and Steve Mason.

“I trained with David and Marco during my playing career with the LA Kings and saw firsthand the elite level and focus on development they bring,” said President of Hockey Operations Jamie Storr. “They continue to develop some of the best goalies in the game. We’re excited to have Franco Canadian Goalie School join us as consultants and collaborate with our staff.”

The addition of FCGS also reflects strong alignment with the Silverbacks’ current goaltending group. Both Daniel Dirracolo and Mikkel Christensen have trained within the Franco system for years and continue to work with FCGS during the offseason.

“Excited to get to work with the Silverbacks organization,” said David and Marco Franco. “We’re looking forward to supporting the existing coaching staff, and continuing to develop both the current and next generation goalies who are ready for the next level.”

The engagement of FCGS further strengthens the Silverbacks’ commitment to elite player development—enhancing performance at the junior level while building a clear pathway for future goaltenders advancing through the program.
