The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are excited to announce forward Matthew Verboon has been named as an honourable mention for BCHL Player of the Week.
It was quite a return for Matthew Verboon after playing the World Juniors with Team Switzerland. In three game the forward had three goals and two assists. Friday against the Vipers Verboon scored the lone Silverbacks goal of the game, Saturday he assisted on the opening goal, and Sunday was his biggest output with one goal and two assists in the win over Powell River.
Verboon is the third Silverback to receive an honourable mention this season. Nick Unruh and Ethan Langenegger also earned the nod earlier this season.
Salmon Arm is on the road this weekend for and Island swing. The team starts Friday in Alberni Valley, going to Nanaimo Saturday night, and wrapping things up Sunday in Cowichan Valley. The Silverbacks are back at home on January 25th and 26th taking on the Trail Smoke Eaters in the Shaw Centre.
