Nick Unruh Commits to Dartmouth

The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are excited to announce forward Nick Unruh has committed to play NCAA Div I hockey at Dartmouth College.

Last season’s rookie of the year, Unruh is 6th in team scoring this season with 24 points. The Fort McMurray native has 14 goals on the season good for third on the team. In 95 career games with the Silverbacks, Unruh has 26 goals and 30 assists for 56 points.

“We are very pleased to announce that second year Silverback forward Nick Unruh has committed to attend Dartmouth College.  The “Big Green” are getting a very skilled forward who sees the game well and has exceptional shooting ability.  Nick is also an exceptional student so Dartmouth is a good academic fit for him.  This marks the fifth NCAA scholarship commitment to a Silverback player this season,” said Silverbacks Head Coach and GM Scott Atkinson.

Located in New Hampshire, Dartmouth plays in the ECAC Conference which also contains Colgate where Silverbacks teammate Matthew Verboon is committed to.

Salmon Arm plays on the Island this weekend and will return home next week for a double header with the Trail Smoke Eaters on January 25th and 26th.
