Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are thrilled to announce the promotion of Tyler Shattock to the position of General Manager. Shattock, who has served as the Head Coach of the Silverbacks for the past four seasons, has been a cornerstone of the team’s success and will now bring his leadership and vision to the broader role of General Manager.
“First I want to thank the ownership group for the continued confidence in me to lead this organization,” said Shattock. “Also a thank you to Brooks for his nine years with the organization and the five we got to spend together. I am excited about the opportunity to add GM to my already current role as Head Coach.”
During his tenure as Head Coach, Shattock has compiled a 107-62-8-6 record. His remarkable coaching career reached a significant milestone last season when he achieved his 100th career win in a 4-3 victory over the Penticton Vees. Under his guidance, the Silverbacks have consistently performed at a high level, making the playoffs every eligible season with a solid playoff record of 29-19.
Shattock’s leadership has been instrumental in the team’s success, including back-to-back Interior Conference Championships. His tenure has been marked by the development of exceptional talent, with players earning prestigious BCHL awards under his watch. Notable accolades include Simon Tassy’s MVP award in 2022, Owen Say’s Goalie of the Year recognition in 2022, and Akito Hirose’s Top Defenseman award in 2020.
In his new role, Shattock will be responsible for overseeing all hockey operations, including player acquisitions, team strategy, and long-term planning. His deep understanding of the game and his proven track record make him uniquely qualified to guide the Silverbacks.
