Silverbacks trade with Langley Rivermen for Eli Pulver

SALMON ARM, BC- The Salmon Arm Silverbacks receive goaltender Eli Pulver (’03) in a trade with Langley Rivermen for a player development fee, following a trade for Pulver between the Surrey Eagles and Langley Rivermen.

The 20-year-old goaltender had a standout 2022-23 season with the Surrey Eagles. In 35 games last season, Pulver posted a 23-8-3 record with a .930 save percentage (SV%) and six shutouts. In December of last year, Pulver was selected to play in the 2023 British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) Top Prospects Game, along with playing for Team Turris in the 2023 All-Star Weekend. The 6’1 goaltender played for the Surrey Eagles in his last 2 seasons, but the Salmon Arm Silverbacks organization is excited to see him wear the Silverback’s crest.

“We found ourself in a similar situation this time last off season in need of a starting goalie,” said Silverbacks GM Brooks Christensen. “Finding someone with junior experience was essential and feel we found the perfect fit with Eli. We have been very fortunate with goaltenders over my time with the organization and felt it was important to find an individual that could help continue that trend. We believe Eli will be able to step into our dressing room and make an impact to our teams success immediately.”

The Vancouver, BC product was nominated for the Michael Garteig Trophy (Best Goaltender) award in the 2022-23 season. In addition to his nomination, Pulver was selected for the 2022-23 year-end, Second-Team All-Stars. Pulver had a year to remember but the Silverbacks organization is excited to see what he does next.

Please join us in welcoming Eli and his family to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks organization.
