SALMON ARM, BC- The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are excited to announce the commitment of 19-year-old defenceman Marcus Broberg from the Springfield Jr. Blues (NAHL).
Broberg finished last season with 2-goals and 12-assists, with a total of 14-points with the Springfield Jr. Blues. Earlier in his season, the Swedish player played for both the Omaha Lancers and Waterloo Black Hawks posting 3-goals, 7-assists, and a total of 10-points. The 6-foot, 183 pound defenceman has already committed to NCAA’s University of Nebraska-Omaha.
“We are very excited to be adding a veteran defenceman like Marcus to our D-core next season,” said Silverbacks GM Brooks Christensen. “With a lot of our defence core moving onto NCAA we felt it was important to add some veteran players and think Marcus will fit in perfectly to the identity of our group.”
Broberg says he looks forward to meeting everyone and playing for the Silverbacks organization next season.
“I’m super excited to join the Salmon Arm Silverbacks!” said Broberg. “I have only heard great things about the organization and the team and I am looking forward to getting the season started! I look forward to meeting fans, the sponsors and the team very soon.”
Please join us in welcoming Marcus and his family to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks organization.
