Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks have traded defenseman Matthew Gillard (’05) to the Merritt Centennials for future considerations.
Gillard has played in 13 games with the Silverbacks this season, grabbing one assist. The Yellowknife, North West Territories product came from the Northern Alberta Xtreme U18 Prep team where he had 10 points (3G,7A) in 28 games last season.
“Matt is a great kid, we felt it was best to move him to a spot where he’d get more opportunity to get into the lineup,” said Silverbacks GM, Brooks Christensen. “He’s a fantastic kid who has worked hard every day when he comes to the rink and we thank him for his time and dedication to the Silverbacks organization.”
The Salmon Arm Silverbacks organization would like to thank Matthew for his continuous hard work and determination to represent the Silverbacks organization and wish him nothing but the best in Merritt.
