Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are pleased to announce the hiring’s of Kevin Davis, Assistant Coach, and Kevin Heise, Trainer and Equipment Manager, for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
Davis steps behind the bench for the first time after a successful playing career that took him to several professional leagues. The 28-year-old former defenceman played 5 seasons with the Everett Silvertips, holding the title of captain in his final season. He holds the Silvertips franchise record for most games played with 347 games, while scoring 26 goals and adding 149 assists. Davis went on the play in the AHL, the ECHL, and overseas in Norway.
“Hiring Kevin is a great fit for our group,” said GM and Head Coach, Tyler Shattock. “He had a long playing career both in the Western League and professionally. In our search for someone to run our defensive core and skill development, we see this as a great opportunity for our guys to learn from someone that has knowledge and experience at the junior and professional levels.”
The Kamloops native is excited for this next step in his hockey career.
“I’m really excited to work with this group of players, staff and organization,” said Assistant Coach, Kevin Davis. “I’ve heard nothing but good things from guys that have played and coached here before, about their culture and professionalism. Really looking forward to meeting everyone, building relationships, and getting to work with this team.”
Heise has been in the game of hockey for over 40 years. His professional career started at Mount Royal College in Calgary with two National Championships. Kevin then spent the next decade in the WHL, CHL, and ECHl in various support staff positions.
“We’re are extremely excited to have Kevin join the Silverbacks,” said GM and Head Coach, Tyler Shattock. “His energy and passion for the game is something we need in that position. Our players will be well looked after, both medically and in terms of equipment. Kevin is going to be a huge asset to our group and I know our players are really going to enjoy working with him.”
The Edmonton native also spent 10 years owning and operating Elite Profiling, a custom skate sharpening and profiling business.
“I look forward to bringing my knowledge to the Silverbacks organization,” said Trainer and Equipment Manager, Kevin Heise. “There is nothing better than being part of a hockey team in a competitive environment trying to win a championship.”
