Salmon Arm, BC – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks have signed 05′ Forward, Maddux Martin. The Salmon Arm, BC, born forward impressed throughout training camp, which ultimately led to him making the team out of camp.
Martin suited up for the U18 AAA Thompson Blazers last season. In 34 games, he recorded 9 goals, and added 22 assists for 31 points. He has also played four games during the pre-season for the Silverbacks, where he scored against Prince George on Thursday night.
Martin says he is thrilled for the opportunity to be playing for his hometown team.
“I’m extremely excited to be joining the Silverbacks organization. Growing up here, it’s always been a goal of mine to play for the Silverbacks. I’m grateful for the coaching staff for giving me this opportunity”.
Silverbacks General Manager, Brooks Christensen, said he was impressed with Martin during training camp.
“Maddux has earned everything here with our program. He’s come in and impressed us with his strong work ethic and compete every day he’s at the arena. We are proud to see the determination by a local earn his way onto the team and look forward to seeing Maddux contribute to our success this season.”
