Silverbacks loss first road game of the season, 3-2 to the Saints

Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks took to the road for the first time in the 2025/26 season, to take on the Spruce Grove Saints.

No scoring in an even first period. Both teams had a look on the powerplay in the opening frame but neither could find the back of the net. Shots on goal after the first was 8-7 in favour of the Silverbacks.

A tie game after the second period as both teams get on the board. In the first two minutes, Robert Fedor slides his way to the slot and sneaks one by the glove to give the Saints the 1-0 lead. 38 seconds later, Liam Bursaw rushes into the offensive zone and slides a pass between his legs to Luke Sinclair who hammers home his first career BCHL goal to tie the game up at 1-1. Each team had a couple of looks on with the man advantage in the middle frame as well.

The Saints are able to score one more than the Silverbacks in the third to take the game. Another early start to a period sees Felix Haibock take a give-and-go pass and complete the brief breakaway for the 2-1 lead. The Silverbacks show off their resiliency as 2 minutes later, on a powerplay, Tanner Walos snipes home his 2nd of the season to tie up the game 2-2. Just before the media timeout, at the 9:09 mark, a mad scramble in front finds the tape of Alexy Lachane, who slides in the loos puck to re-take the lead for the third time in this game. The back-and-forth would end there as the Silverbacks could not tie up the game, despite an empty net attempt in the final minute.

In his BCHL debut, Maverick Avent stopped 24/27 shots faced in the loss.
