Silverbacks Double Header This Weekend

SALMON ARM, B.C.  NOVEMBER 19, 2016

The Silverbacks (10-15-0-0) begin back-to-back weekend home games on Saturday night versus the Cowichan Valley Capitals (12-10-1-2) at 7pm at the Shaw Centre. Salmon Arm will host Wenatchee on Sunday at 3pm, followed by ‘Skate with the ‘Backs on Sunday afternoon. This weekend is also Silverbacks parents weekend.

The Silverbacks earned their third home ice victory last weekend, in a 5-4 double overtime comeback victory over Merritt.

Salmon Arm has two wins and four losses in November, after falling 5-0 on the road at the Surrey Eagles (10-12-0-2) on Thursday.

The Silverbacks have a pair of wins and two regulation losses in their first four games with Island Division opponents, and are now 3-3-0-0 in the Mainland Division.

The Wild had their seven game win streak ended on Wednesday, 7-3 in Chilliwack.

The Silverbacks will visit the Capitals on Friday, February 10th at 7pm.

Interim head coach Misko Antisin will make his home ice debut this weekend, the former assistant coach in Salmon Arm began his BCHL playing career with Cowichan Valley at the age of 15. Antisin joins assistant coaches Darrell Hay and Brooks Christensen.

Salmon Arm will be on the road next weekend, back in Merritt on Friday and at Prince George on Saturday, November 26th. The Silverbacks will make their first visit of the season to Penticton on Friday, December 2nd.

Salmon Arm will be back in action at the Shaw Centre on Saturday, December 3rd for a 7pm face-off versus the Smoke Eaters.
