Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks have signed Forward Maxime Lafond (’06).
Lafond joins the Silverbacks from the QMJHL where the 18-year-old forward played in 152 games, scoring 10 goals and 25 assists for 35 points. The 6’5″, 205 pound winger has already suited up for two games with the Silverbacks and has one assist.
“Max is a guy that has junior experience,” said GM and Head Coach, Tyler Shattock. “We needed to add some size to our forward group, as well as someone that can bring offence. Max will be able to provide both for us going forward.”
The Longueuil, Quebec native won the QMJHL championship last season with the Drummondville Voltigeurs and suited up in three Memorial Cup games.
“I am very excited to be in Salmon Arm and have an opportunity to play for the Silverbacks,” said Lafond. “This seems like a great hockey city and the fans, staff, and players are amazing.”
The Silverbacks would like to welcome Maxime and his family to the organization and to Salmon Arm!
