Maine Commit Remick Commits to Silverbacks

Salmon Arm B.C. — The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are thrilled to announce the commitment of 17-year-old forward Ryan Remick for the 2021-22 BCHL season.

The New Jersey native spent the 2019-20 season playing U.S. Prep Hockey at Kent School in Connecticut, where he tallied eight goals and nine assists for 17 points in 26 games as a 16-year-old. He ranked third on his team in goals and fifth in points.

Remick was recently listed as a ‘C’ Skater on NHL Central Scouting’s Players to Watch List for the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, indicating a 4th, 5th or 6th round candidate.

“We’re thrilled to add Ryan to our lineup for next year,” Silverbacks head coach Tyler Shattock said. “He’s big, he skates well and he has an impressive offensive touch, so we look forward to him contributing next season.”

Remick also played three games for the Yale Jr. Bulldogs U-16 AAA club in the 2019-20 season, where he scored two goals. The season before, he played for the Canadian International Hockey Academy U-18 AAA program in Rockland, Ontario, where he registered 42 points (23 goals) in 43 games, the second-most on his team. His 42 points ranked 13th amongst all U-16 players in the Hockey Eastern Ontario region playing midget AAA that season.

“I’m super excited to join the Silverback program!” Remick said. “I can’t thank the coaches enough for giving me this opportunity. I look forward to meeting everyone in Salmon Arm.”

The left-shot winger currently has an NCAA Div-I scholarship to Maine University, who compete in the Hockey East Association.
