The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are pleased to announce that 20-year-old forward Nick Hutchison has committed to NCAA Div 1 Canisius College Golden Griffins. The Grifins play in the Atlantic Hockey Conference.
“I am very honored to be given the opportunity to play at Canisius with such an excellent athletic and academic program,” said Hutchison. “Playing Division I hockey has been a huge goal for me, and now it’s about trying to win a championship in Salmon Arm.” I would not have gotten this opportunity though without my teammates, coaches, family and the whole Silverbacks organization.
Coach West had this to say about the announcement. This is a great accomplishment for Nick. “We are very proud of him and this truly shows through hard work and determination that you can reach your goals”. Nick showed a tremendous amount of character through this process and we look forward to watching him play college hockey.
Nick is currently the leading scorer for the Backs and we would like to congratulate him and his family on this great achievement.
