Derailed In Coquitlam

The Salmon Arm SilverBacks have now lost five consecutive games, following the weekend road trip that saw a 5-1 loss in Surrey; one night before a Saturday loss in Coquitlam, by a score of 7-1.

Landon Smith netted his 42nd goal of the season, on Saturday, but it was far from enough, as the Coquitlam Express scored at least two goal in each Period of the game, to hand the SilverBacks a disappointing result away from the Shaw Centre.

The SilverBacks threw 18 shots at the Express net in the 1st Period, but managed to trail Coquitlam by a score of 2-1, after 20 minutes. The Express scored three goals in just over eight minutes of hockey in the 2nd Period, for a 5-1 advantage on home ice.

Coquitlam Forwards Cody Boyd, and Canon Pieper each scored power-play goals in the 3rd Period, for the eventual 7-1 decision.

SilverBacks Goaltender Angus Redmond made 28 saves in the start, as Salmon Arm outshot the Express 40-35 on the evening.

Salmon Arm plays two monumentus games next weekend, as they visit Vernon on Friday, before hosting Merritt on Saturday.
