Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are pleased to announce that defenseman Ben Macbeath (’08) has committed to the University of Denver.
“It’s an honour to commit to the University of Denver,” said Macbeath. “I would like to thank everyone who has helped me along the way, family, friends, teammate’s, and coaches. DU is a great fit for my family and I. Go Pios!”
Macbeath is heading into his first season with the Silverbacks but previously played with the Edge School U18 Prep team in the CCSHL where the young defenseman put up a total of 6 goals and 23 assists for 29 points in 26 games. His team won the CSSHL’s U18 Prep Western Championship where the 16-year-old had 6 points in 5 playoff games. The Calgary, Alberta product also played in this years WHL Cup as part of team Alberta where he had 3 points in 5 games.
