Backs Embark on Three Game Road Trip, Starting in West Kelowna

SALMON ARM, BC: The Salmon Arm Silverbacks (35-9-6) make their final trip to Royal LePage Place tonight to battle the West Kelowna Warriors (32-16-1). The Backs hold the season series 4 games to 1. The most recent matchup inside Royal LePage saw the Backs take down the Warriors 2-1 in overtime on the backs of Simon Tassy’s OT winner and 39 stops from goaltender Owen Say. Tonight is the beginning of the final road trip of the regular season. They will head north to battle Prince George for a pair of games following the game tonight. They have been outstanding on the road this season. Although they just lost their first regular-season road game a week ago in Penticton, they still hold a 19-1-5 record away from the Shaw Centre.

Players to Watch:
Simon Tassy: He has been a one-man wrecking crew for the Backs against the Warriors. in 10 games last season in the pod vs the Warriors, he had 14 goals this year? Seven goals, 12 points in five games. His dominance has carried over to this year which is good news for the Silverbacks. His 74 points this season are good for second in BCHL scoring.

Owen Say: His 3-1 record this season versus the Warriors is among the best against any other opponent. Say has a 1.76 GAA and .947 SV% in the four starts vs. West Kelowna. Say is third in the BCHL in wins (23), fourth in GAA (2.36), and leads the pack with a .926 SV%. He is 23-8-5 on the year with three shutouts. 

A Look At The Opposition
The West Kelowna Warriors have five games left in the regular season. They will take on Merritt twice, Vernon and Penticton, following tonight’s game. They sit third in the Interior division behind the Silverbacks. Felix Trudeau leads the way offensively for the Warriors with 57 points in 47 games.
