Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are excited to announce the appointment of Bobby Stewart as the team’s Director of Player Personnel. In this pivotal role, Bobby will be responsible for identifying emerging talent and assisting recruited players in their journey to the next phase of their hockey careers beyond the BCHL.
Bobby’s hockey journey began in Fort McMurray, Alberta, where he made a name for himself with the Oil Barons. His commitment to the sport led him to Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in Saskatchewan, where he honed his skills and prepared for the next level. In 1999, Bobby reached a significant milestone by becoming an NCAA Division 1 National Champion during his final year at the University of Maine. His pursuit of professional hockey dreams took him to the ice for six years, where he celebrated IHL and Allan Cup championships.
After concluding his professional hockey career, Bobby transitioned into the business world. Outside of his professional achievements, Bobby remains passionate about sports, dedicating time to golf and pickleball. He is also actively involved in his children’s hockey pursuits, with both of his young kids playing in the Dallas Stars Metro Hockey League.
In his new role, Bobby will leverage his wealth of experience to scout and nurture emerging talent, ensuring a seamless transition for players as they advance in their hockey careers. His expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
