The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are excited to announce forward Matthew Verboon has been invited to attend Switzerland's World Jr. tryout camp.
In his first year with the Silverbacks, Verboon leads the team in points (29) and goals (13). Last season playing in Switzerland, Verboon with the U20 Genève-Servette won the league championship. A dual citizen, Verboon played for Team Switzerland last season in the U-18 World Junior Championships where he had two assists in six games.
Verboon is currently on Vancouver Island with the team preparing for the World Juniors which are taking place this year in Vancouver and Victoria. The team will be taking 13 forwards to the tournament and they are currently down to their final 15.
