SALMON ARM,B.C.: The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are pleased to announce they've hired Tony Trozzo to serve as the team’s Play-by-Play Broadcaster/Communications Coordinator for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
“We are thrilled to be adding Tony to our staff," said Silverbacks GM Brooks Christensen."We believe he can help us in taking our fan experience to the next level not only when broadcasting but on social media and community engagement."
Trozzo recently graduated from SAIT's Radio, Television and Broadcast News program where he also called the Trojans college hockey games. He also knows his way around a golf course, winning the BC AA High School championships in 2013, 2014, and 2016.
"I have spent the early part of my life dreaming about calling hockey games for a living," said Trozzo. "Now I can say I am doing that in my home province. I want to say thank you to the SAIT Trojans for letting me practice my craft ahead of this opportunity.”
Among his new responsibilities, Trozzo will broadcast all 54 regular season games plus playoffs for the Silverbacks starting in September. The 2022-23 BCHL regular season schedule is currently online.
