SALMON ARM, SEPTEMBER 13, 2016 — The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are proud to announce that Kelowna, BC forward Marcus Mitchell has committed to the Michigan Tech Huskies of the WCHA for the 2018-2019 season.
“Marcus had a very good rookie season last year and put himself on the radar with many NCAA schools to start this season and after his visit a few weeks ago to Houghton, Michigan he was sold ” Stated GM Troy Mick. Marcus is a player who works hard everyday at his game and is very deserving of his scholarship to the Huskies.

Playing College hockey has always been a goal of mine and I’m grateful for the opportunity Michigan Tech has given me. I am extremely excited for the future, not only to continue my hockey career, but to advance my academics as well. I just want to thank my Family, Coaches, Teammates, Friends and the city of Salmon Arm for everything, as I couldn’t have gotten here with out them.
