SilverBacks Fall To Clippers In Nanaimo

20 year old Forward Landon Smith had the lone goal of the game for the SilverBacks on Friday Night; as the Nanaimo Clippers secured a 4-1 victory on home ice.

The 'Backs started the game with a list of shots and chances that were turned away by Nanaimo's Jayson Argue, before the Clips' Scott Prier and Sheldon Rempel were able to create a quick 2-0 lead for the home squad to finish off the 1st Period.

Nanaimo potted another goal; mid-way into the 2nd Period, for a 3-0 lead, before Adam Clark stopped a Penalty Shot attempt by Devin Brossea.

That opportunity to gather momentum wasn't enough for the 'Backs; who gave up another marker late in the 2nd Period for a 4-0 deficit heading into the dressing room.

Landon Smith's goal came at 5:31, but it wont provide much solace for the SilverBacks who face a quick turn-around before Saturday's test in Victoria.

Veteran goaltender Adam Clark was good for 26 saves in his 2nd start of the season. The 'Backs will finish off the road trip in Chilliwack on Sunday Afternoon, at 5pm.
