Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks have signed defenceman Donovan Hamilton (’05).
Hamilton started the season in the USHL with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders where the big 6’3″, 200 pound defenceman played in 8 games and did not register a point. In total, the 18-year-old has suited up in 71 games in the USHL, scoring one goal and 3 assists for four points.
“Being able to add size and ability is something all teams want,” said Silverbacks GM and Head Coach, Tyler Shattock. “With adding Donovan, that’s what we are getting. He will bring a presence to our defence core that we were looking for.”
The Buffalo, New York native is committed to Cornell University.
“I’m super excited to get things started this year in Salmon arm and meet all the players and staff,” said Hamilton. “I feel that this is a great opportunity for me to improve both sides of my game and develop more as a player.”
