Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are pleased to announce the commitment of forward JJ Monteiro (’06) for the 2023-24 season.
Monteiro finished last season playing with the Mount St. Charles Academy in the NorthEast Pack 16U Hockey League where the young centre scored 10 goals and added in 6 assists in 12 games. To start off last season, the 17-year-old scored 95 points in 58 games for his 16U AAA club.
“We’re adding another strong forward to our established group with JJ joining our team,” said Silverbacks GM, Brooks Christensen. “When watching him we were very impressed by his compete, size, and skill, and feel he fits our culture perfectly with the group we have returning.”
The Hudson, Massachusetts native is excited and ready to come north of the border to join the organization.
“I’m super excited about the opportunity in Salmon Arm,” said Monteiro. “I’m looking forward to getting there and getting to work.”
Monteiro is committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey with Providence College.
The Silverbacks would like to welcome JJ and his family to the Silverbacks organization and to Salmon Arm.
