Beckner and Richardson listed by NHL Central Scouting

Salmon Arm, BC – NHL Central Scouting released their Preliminary Players to Watch List for the 2022/23 season.  Forward Owen Beckner, and Goalie Carter Richardson were both listed on Tuesday morning.

Beckner committed to Colorado College prior to the start of the 2022/23 BCHL season, and has impressed in the early stages.  He is coming off a ten point campaign in his first year with the Silverbacks last year. Through 11 games this year, the Victoria, BC native, has recorded six goals, and added eight assists for fourteen points. He currently leads the Silverbacks in points, and is tied for eighth in league scoring. Beckner is listed as a “C” rating which would indicate him as 4th/5th/6th round candidate for the upcoming 2023 NHL Draft in Nashville.

Carter Richardson is in his first year in Salmon Arm, as he spent last year with the U16 AAA Boston Hockey Academy. In 44 games last year, Richardson posted a 22-13-7 record, while boasting a 2.07 GAA. Through three games this year, the Dartmouth, NS native has went 1-1-0, with a 2.74 GAA, and a .897 save percentage. The seventeen year old goalie is also coming off his first BCHL shutout last week, where he stopped all 22 shots that he faced in their 4-0 win over Coquitlam. Richardson is also listed as a “C” rating which would slot him into the 4th/5th/6th round projection for the upcoming draft.
