Backs Acquire Ladyman in Trade with Blues

SALMON ARM,BC- The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are excited to announce that they have acquired the rights of 20-year-old defenceman Mike Ladyman from the Winnipeg Blues (MJHL). Ladyman played parts of three seasons in the Western Hockey League split between the Spokane Chiefs and the Winnipeg Ice. Last year was a productive year for Ladyman, racking up 15 points in 20 games in the bubble in Regina. Before his time in the WHL, Ladyman played 86 games for the Blues tallying six goals and 45 assists.

Head Coach and Assistant General Manager Tyler Shattock had this to say on the acquisition of Ladyman.

“We are excited to add Mike Ladyman to our lineup. He’s a veteran guy that really hit his stride last year in Winnipeg. He’s going to add leadership and an offensive pace to our game,” said Shattock.

Ladyman spoke about his next chapter in hockey.

“I am excited about the opportunity to play in the BCHL for the Silverbacks. Great to get a chance to start on the road with the boys this week and looking forward for the home opener next week,” said Ladyman.
