Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are pleased to announce that goalie Andrew Ballantyne (’04) has committed to Tennessee State University.
“I’m very excited to be joining Tennessee state for their inaugural year, being able to be apart of the start of a program and in building the culture is truly an honour,” said Ballantyne. “I’d like to thank my family, friends, teammates and coaches for all their support over the years!”
Ballantyne is in his first season with the Silverbacks where the 20-year-old has a 3-1 record so far in 4 games played with a 1.97 GAA and a 0.934 SV%. This is the Whitby, Ontario products second season in the BCHL where he has a total of 33 games played for a 15-14-3 record and a 3.28 GAA and a 0.905 SV%. Before joining the BCHL, the 6’2” netminder spent two seasons in the OJHL with the Pickering Panthers where he had a 28-9-1 record in 44 games played, putting up a 2.69 GAA and a 0.915 SV%. Ballantyne also won an OJHL championship.
