Coach Misko Antisin Steps Down

SALMON ARM, May 1, 2017 — Salmon Arm Silverbacks President & General Manager Troy Mick today announced that Head Coach Misko Antisin will be stepping down as Silverbacks Head Coach effective May 30, 2017.

“I appreciate the confidence and support of Troy Mick and the Silverbacks ownership group over the last 3 years, however I will be moving back to the USA to pursue professional opportunities down there” stated Coach Antisin.

I would like to thank my immediate staff Darrell Hay, Brooks Christensen, Jade Viegas, Heather Sims and Phil Stewart for all of your diligent work and efforts as well as your friendship & support. To the players thank you for giving me your best every night and to the best fans in the league, thank you being patient with the young group we had this past season as I believe you will be very pleased with the team this coming season.

It has been an honor to work with such a prestigious and professional organization and I will miss it all. I will also stay on as a consultant to help continue to find the best players available for the Backs down south.

“This is a tough day for me personally as I have known Mish for many years however I’m very excited for his future down in the states” says GM Troy Mick. He turned the program around when he agreed to take the team over in November and we will be a better team this year because of it. He is an amazing coach, friend and role model for all players in the game of hockey…he will be missed.

The search for Misko’s replacement will begin immediately.
