Silverbacks trade with Surrey Eagles for veteran forward Jacob Bonkowski

Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks have received forward Jacob Bonkowski (’03) and future considerations in a trade with the Surrey Eagles in exchange for player development fees and future considerations.

The 20-year-old broke out last season with the Eagles, scoring 27 goals and adding 27 assists for 54 points in 53 games played. Bonkowski has played the past three seasons in the BCHL, one season with the Powell River Kings and two with the Eagles, and has scored 101 points in 129 games.

“We’re excited to have Jacob join our program,” said Silverbacks GM, Brooks Christensen. “He brings additional experience to our forward group and expect him to play a key role in offensive production.”

Bonkowski has committed to play for the University of Nebraska Omaha.

The Silverbacks would like to welcome Jacob and his family to the organization and the City.
