Buckley Signs With Salmon Arm

SALMON ARM, B.C.: The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are pleased to announce St. George’s defenseman Ryan Buckley will join the team for the upcoming 2022-23 BCHL hockey season.

Buckley, who hails from Warwick, R.I., finished his senior year at St. George’s this past season. In addition to his time at prep school, he’s also played for the South Shore Kings 18U squad. He posted a combined 27 points in 44 games including 25 assists on the blueline.

Silverbacks Head Coach Tyler Shattock says the 6-foot-1, 179-pound defenceman will be a nice addition to the team's back end:

"Ryan is a guy that will fill out our d-core perfectly. He fits everything we want in Salmon Arm. He is a kid with great character. Makes a good first pass and will be able to defend against anyone."

Buckley, who has already committed to the NCAA Holy Cross Crusaders, says he's looking forward to suiting up for the Silverbacks:

“I am extremely excited to join the Silverbacks for the 2022-2023 season. Winning and development were two major factors in my choice to join Salmon Arm. I played against Tucker Hartman for a couple of years in prep hockey and he had nothing but good things to say about the Silverbacks organization and the city of Salmon Arm. After hearing this, and talking with both Coach Shattock and Coach Cochrane, I knew Salmon Arm was the perfect spot for me.”

Please join us in welcoming Ryan and his family to the organization.
