Whiteley To Join Coquitlam Express

The Salmon Arm SilverBacks have made a move ahead of the BCHL's impending Trade Deadline, this Friday, by sending 20 year old Defenceman Mark Whiteley to the Coquitlam Express, for Future Considerations.

Whiteley, a native of Surrey, B.C, joined the SilverBacks earlier in the season from the Langley Rivermen, and posted 6 assists in 27 games in his time with the SilverBacks.

'Backs General Manager and Head Coach Troy Mick says the move of Whiteley allows the 'Backs an open roster position "We really appreciate the work Mark did for our organization, on, and off the ice, but we felt that the best way to improve our club was to make a deal that gave us space for another player; while at the same time adding Future Considerations from the Express."

Mick says the organization would like to wish Mark all the best in Coquitlam, with the Express, as they continue to work towards a Playoff berth in the Mainland Division.

The SilverBacks hit the road this weekend, with games in Powell River, Alberni Valley, and Cowichan Valley, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, respectively.
