The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are excited to announce that Tyler Shattock has been added to the 2018-2019 coaching staff as an Assistant Coach. From Salmon Arm, Shattock played four full seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Kamloops Blazers and ending his career with the Calgary Hitmen. With the Hitmen he played in the Memorial Cup scoring seven points in the four games during the tournament. In 2009 he was drafted in the 4th round of the NHL Draft by the St Louis Blues.

After graduating from the WHL, Shattock played four seasons in the AHL. The following three years were spent in the East Coast Hockey League. Last season playing in the United Kingdom’s Elite Ice Hockey league, Shattock played for the Braehead Clan scoring 28 points in 39 games.

“Scotty and tanner have welcomed me and I can’t thank them enough. Learning from them has been an awesome experience for me. I look forward to opportunity to help grow the winning /professional culture that Scotty and tanner have built here in Salmon Arm. I can draw from my experiences at all different levels and help the players with what can help them be successful at the junior level and also the college/ pro level as well,” said Tyler Shattock.

“We feel Tyler will greatly compliment the coaching staff we already have in place.  He brings an addition of playing experience to our coaching staff and we feel the players will benefit working with him this season. For our players to have the opportunity to work with Tyler on skills such as shooting, technique & execution will play a crucial part in their hockey development,” said Salmon Arm Sports Inc Operations Manager Brooks Christensen.

The Silverbacks are on the road this week with games Wednesday night against the Vernon Vipers and Saturday night taking on the league leading Chilliwack Chiefs.
