SilverBacks training camp wrapped up Wednesday afternoon with the annual Black & White game at Shaw Centre. Veteran Jeff Kennedy's goal with just under 7 minutes left in the third period sealed a Black come-from-behind victory.
Kennedy converted a two-on-one chance after a nifty feed from linemate Colton Thibault to seal the game, as Black overcame three separate deficits to earn the victory.
White struck early on two goals from Landon Smith before Conor Andrle and Zach Dixon, the latter on a screamer from the right point with 7 seconds left in the period, knotted things up at 2-2.
The teams traded goals before White's Russell Jordan banged home a loose puck with 2:24 remaining in the second to give his side a 4-3 lead after 40 minutes.
Black tied the game just shy of the midway mark of period three, and goaltender Angus Redmond pitched a shutout final frame to preserve the win.
Following the game, the team underwent its first wave of re-assignments. 35 players remain with the club in advance of the 2013 exhibition opener Thursday in Merritt (7:00 pm, Nicola Valley Arena).
