Salmon Arm, B.C. — Salmon Arm Silverbacks trainer and equipment manager Brodie St. Jacques has accepted a position with the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League and will be leaving the Silverbacks organization.

“It’s tough to see Brodie moving on from our organization,” Silverbacks general manager Brooks Christensen said. “Since he arrived in Salmon Arm, he was a perfect fit. He has done a great job keeping our players safe and keeping our facility spotless, and he also displayed incredible work ethic, especially during Covid.

“I’d like to thank Brodie for all his hard work and dedication to this program and wish him the best of luck in his new opportunity. I have no doubt he will be with a professional program in no time.”

St. Jacques has been with the Backs for the past two seasons. Before joining the team, he was the head athletic trainer and equipment manager for two years with the Northern Alberta Xtreme academies four elite prep teams that compete in in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL).

“I would like to thank the Silverbacks organization for a great two years,” St. Jacques said. “I thoroughly enjoyed my time here working with an awesome group of players and can’t thank Brooks, Tyler and Carter enough for all their help along the way. It’s a bittersweet feeling to leave the Backs, but I am excited for this next chapter in my career and am grateful to the Vancouver Giants for providing this opportunity.”

The Silverbacks would like to wish Brodie all the best in his new opportunity and thank him for his hard work and dedication to the organization.

With his departure, the Backs have an immediate opening for the position of Trainer/Equipment Manager for the 2021-22 season. Interested candidates should send their resume and references to: [email protected]. For a full job description, click here.
