Salmon Arm SilverBacks forward Landon Smith has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 15, the league announced Monday.
Smith helped the 'Backs to five of a possible six points and notched six goals and one helper in the process. The native of Denver, Colorado opened with a 1st Star award for his hat trick that included the game-winning goal in a 5-2 win in Trail. He followed that with two more tallies and another 1st Star nod in a 4-2 comeback win over Vernon; he concluded with a goal in a 5-4 overtime loss to Merritt.
Smith continues to lead the BCHL in goals with 30.
