Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks return to Rogers Rink, welcoming in the top team in the BCHL, the West Kelowna Warriors.
A tie game after the first period with both teams scoring a goal. Keifer Miller gets the game started by getting the puck in front of the net and finding the far side for his 5th of the season. Coming out of the media timeout, the Warriors tie it up with Ian Alonso tipping one home.
The offense explodes for the Warriors in the second. At the 8:48 mark, Noah Garthe rips one past the goalie to make it a 2-1 lead giving the Warriors the lead. In the final four minutes, adding another one is Jace Rask tipping a point shot, 3-1. Then in the final 6 seconds, Dylan Krayer hammers home a rebound for the 4-1 lead, completing a 3-goal second period.
The Silverbacks turn it on in the third but can’t get another goal. Three back-to-back-to-back penalties in the frame has an extended 4-on-4 chance for either team. In the final frame, the Silverbacks out shot the Warriors 9-3.
Mikkel Christensen faces his first loss of the season, stopping 21/25.
