It didn't come easy for the home squad on the opening night of Parent's Weekend, as the 'Backs had to battle back from a 2-0 deficit that began when Adam Wheeldon scored the 1st and 2nd goals of the game, for his 3rd and 4th goals of the year, with one in the 1st and another in the 2nd Period.
The SilverBacks then made a statement with their dramatic come-back; scoring three consecutive goals, while showing a ton of character in the process. The leagues leading scorer, Landon Smith netted his 14th of the year, batting in a re-bound from the slot, on the power-play, late in the 2nd, with under a minute to go in the period.
Angus Redmond was solid in the win, picking up 21 saves, while keeping the deficit slim through 40 minutes. Trail net minder, Dustin Nikkel was also solid, as Salmon Arm out-shot the Trail Smoke Eaters 39-23 in the win. The victory helps the Silverbacks improve to 7-3-1 on home ice.
The 'Backs now prepare for todays match against Prince George, at 3pm, at the Shaw Centre.
