Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks went back to West Kelowna looking for revenge against the Warriors.
The Silverbacks jumped out to a big lead late in the first period. Salmon Arm jumped out to a hot start in the game, controlling the pace up and down the first 20 minutes, outshooting the Warriors 13-3. With three minutes left in the frame, Aidan Willis stormed down the left wing and connected on a back-door pass to Patrick Raftery for his 7th of the season, making it 1-0. Just over a minute later, the Silverbacks strike again with Easton Walos throwing one on net and Liam Bursaw connects with a between the legs tip-in goal, Bursaw’s 10th of the year. Off the ensuing faceoff, the Silverbacks head to the powerplay when Jack Sadowski gets called for a high-sticking minor. With 17 seconds left, on the powerplay, Cole Cooksey snipes home a laser of a shot for his 7th of the season, 5th powerplay goal, making it 3-0.
Salmon Arm adds one more in the second period. What started as a penalty filled period, with Tucker Shedd and Jack Sadowski both getting roughing penalties in the first minute, each team would get a separate powerplay opportunity after that. Once again striking late, in the final three minutes, Dakota MacIntosh streaks up the ice and snaps one from the right faceoff dot, breaking his stick on the shot but gets enough power to find the bottom corner, his 18th of the year, 5th as a Silverback, 4-0.
No goals or penalties in the third period where the Warriors were pushing for a comeback. The Silverbacks got outshoot in the final frame 11-4 with the Warriors pushing for some momentuem.
Andrew Ballantyne gets his second shutout of the year, stopping 24/24 shots faced.
