Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks faced the Penticton Vees at Rogers Rink.
The Silverbacks come flying out of the gate hot to start the first period. Coming out of the media timeout, Tommy Cronin finds the back of the net for his second straight game with a goal. Six minutes later, Roenick Jodoin comes down ice and scores an absolute beauty to push the Silverbacks lead to 2-0. Before the period ends, the Vees grab crucial momentum when Anselmo Rego scores to cut into the lead, 2-1.
The Vees take over in the second period. Within the first couple of minutes, Ben Merrill tips sets up in front and tips home his sixth of the season to tie the game up, 2-2. Less than a minute later, the Vees are riding high with momentum when Caton Ryan scores his first career BCHL goal to give Penticton the lead. At the nine minute mark, Callum Stone gets his first career BCHL goal as well with a tip in goal in front, cutting through the crease to make it 4-2.
Penticton adds another in the third to finish off the game. Three and a half minutes in, Tanner Walos takes a slashing call, sending the Vees to the powerplay for the third time in the game, and this time they take advantage with Ryden Evers sniping one home for the 5-2 win. Final shots on goal were 28-20 for the Vees.
Despite the loss, Ryan Grout made 23/28 saves.
