Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks played their final game of 2025 on the road against the West Kelowna Warriors. This is the third time in four games these teams are facing each other.
The Silverbacks use a two-goal first period to set the tone. After the halfway mark, Kelsen Podworny gets sent to the box for hooking, giving the Silverbacks their first powerplay. It’s Liam Bursaw who takes it into the slot and fires a rocket into the top corner for his team leading 9th of the season, making it 1-0. Before the period is over Podworny gets sent back to the box for holding the stick, giving the Silverbacks dangerous powerplay another chance. Luke Sinclair parks himself in front of the net and tips in a Scott Miner point shot his Sinclair’s 6th of the year, 2-0.
Salmon Arm hold onto the lead with no goals scored in the second period. A third man advantage opportunity for the Silverbacks when Jace Rask gets called for boarding, but for the first time this game it’s unsuccessful. West Kelowna out shot the Silverbacks 8-4 in the middle frame.
Another period of no scoring gives the Silverbacks the win. The first penaty kill of the night when Jack Toogood goes to the box for cross-checking but it’s a clean kill. 4-on-4 to end the game with solidify the 2-0 shutout win for the Silverbacks to end 2025.
