Silverbacks add more defensive depth

Salmon Arm, B.C. – The Salmon Arm Silverbacks have signed D Ryan Philbrick (’04).

Philbrick started the season in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with Cedar Rapid RoughRiders where the 19-year-old has scored 2 goals and 5 assists in 30 games played. Ryan sustained an upper-body injury and is expected to be in the Silverbacks lineup in March. Before joining the USHL, Philbrick spent two seasons with Cushing Academy in the USHS-Prep league where he played in a total of 58 games, scoring 39 points.

“We have followed Ryan’s path for the past couple years and when the opportunity came to add him to our current line up and have him back for next season, we couldn’t pass it up,” said Silverbacks GM, Brooks Christensen. “We feel Ryan will come in and help our defense core as a mobile puck moving defenseman.”

The Concord, New Hampshire defenseman is committed to play NCAA for the University of New Hampshire.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to join the Silverbacks and I hope to help the team win for the remainder of the season and into the playoffs,” said Philbrick.

The Silverbacks would like to welcome Ryan and his family to the organization and to Salmon Arm!
