Salmon Arm B.C. — The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are happy to announce the addition of 19-year-old defenceman Mitchell Brown, who joins the team from the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League.

The Salmon Arm native has suited up for the Americans for three seasons, recording 29 points (six goals, 23 assists) in 136 games.

“Mitchell is a fantastic kid who fit in right away with our team,” Silverbacks general manager Brooks Christensen said. “He brings a strong defensive style game and plays hard. His strength and size stand out right away on the ice. He adds a piece to our back end that we felt we needed.”

The 6-foot-3 right-shot defenceman attended Minnesota Wild training camp in the fall of 2019 and is a former second-round pick of the Americans, selected 29th overall in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.

The Silverbacks would like to welcome Mitchell back to Salmon Arm!
