Salmon Arm Silverbacks Announce Hockey Operations Leadership Updates

May 8, 2026

The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are pleased to announce a pair of leadership updates within the club’s hockey operations department ahead of the upcoming season.

Bobby Stewart has been promoted to Assistant General Manager after serving as Director of Player Personnel over the past ten seasons. Stewart has played a key role in the continued success and growth of the organization through his dedication to player recruitment, evaluation, and development.

In his new role, Stewart will continue to work closely alongside General Manager Tyler Shattock with a strong focus on advancing all areas of the club’s hockey operations.

The organization is also pleased to announce that Dave Earle has been named Director of Player Personnel. Earle joined the Silverbacks this past season as a scout and quickly made a strong impact through his experience and eye for talent.

With over 40 years at elite levels of hockey as a player, coach, and scout, Earle brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the role. He will work closely with Shattock and Stewart as the organization continues striving toward a common goal of strengthening and improving overall hockey operations.

As outlined in previous announcements, Mark Ferner will continue in his role as Special Advisor- Hockey Operations, while August Aiken will continue serving as the club’s U.S. Scout, both reporting to Tyler Shattock and Bobby Stewart as part of the organization’s hockey operations structure.

“These updates reflect the commitment and experience both Bobby and Dave bring to our organization,” said Dale Unruh, Team President. “Their passion for the game and dedication to building a winning culture will continue to be a major asset for our program moving forward.”

The Silverbacks look forward to the continued leadership and contributions of Stewart and Earle as preparations continue for the upcoming BCHL season.
