Road Trip Ends On A High Note

The SilverBacks can call it a successful road-trip; after Sunday's win in Chilliwack that gave the team four of six possible points in three weekend games.

Adam Clark made 16 of his 31 saves in the 1st Period, to secure a 0-0 score after 20 minutes of hockey, in front of 1,400+ at Chilliwack's Prospera Centre.

Alex Gilles opened the scoring in the 2nd Period, on the power-play, with his 9th goal of the season, about ten mintues before Andrew Farny beat Chilliwack's Lyndon Stanwood to give Salmon Arm a 2-0 lead after two Periods.

Chilliwack cut the lead in half, early in the 3rd Period, on a goal by Ben Butcher, but it wasn't enough as the 'Backs responded with two goals in :23 seconds, thanks to the efforts of Landon Smith and Colton Thibault that provided Salmon Arm with a 4-1 lead.

The Chiefs answered with another marker; late in the game, before Landon Smith's 2nd goal of the afternoon hit the empty net for a 5-2 SilverBacks victory.

Salmon Arm will head home with a two game winning streak; ahead of a pair of home games next weekend against Penticton; and Vernon, respectively.
