One Of Four Points At Bauer Showcase

The Salmon Arm SilverBacks have kicked-off the Regular Season at the BCHL Bauer Showcase in Chilliwack by grabbing one of four available points in games against Victoria, and Powell River.

Alex Gillies netted two goals in Saturday's Season-Opener to help the 'Backs to a 3-1 lead, but the Victoria Grizzlies found their stride as the game progressed; and eventually took a 4-3 lead of their own before a tying goal by SilverBack's Rookie Thomas Plese late in regulation.

The Grizzlies went go on to grab the game-winner in OT thanks to a bouncing point-shot past Adam Clark; who made 30 saves in a losing cause.

Sunday's game against Powell River got off to a slower start, offensively, with the two teams playing without a goal for the opening 17 minutes before the Kings scored to make it 1-0.

Powell River took a 3-0 lead in the 2nd, before Andrew Farny's 1st BCHL goal broke the goose-egg for Salmon Arm.

The Kings added two more goals in the 3rd Period for the 5-1 win.
